Factory sheet metal on a fender or door skin often runs somewhere between 18- and 22-gauge, which is thin enough that heat and impact energy build up fast in one spot. Concentrate too much pressure in too small an area and the panel doesn’t just clean up — it dishes, ripples, or oil-cans. 2. Media Choice Matters More Than Almost Anything Else

4. Blast Both Sides When You Can

6. Know When Soda or Dustless Blasting Is the Smarter Call

7. Hire Someone Who Actually Does Automotive Work, Not Just Buildings and Equipment
